Stress

The late Dr Anthony Clare, the well-known Irish psychiatrist, described stress as "what we experience when there is a significant lack of balance between the resources we possess and the demands made on us". We become stressed when our system is overwhelmed by any experience, physical, mental or emotional. Stress is not something out there. It is a completely internal phenomenon based on how we see, interpret and react to events in our lives.

The most common symptoms of a stressed life-style are:

Do some of these symptoms seem familiar to you? A regular treatment will help to alleviate many of these symptoms. Helpful tips and suggestions that can be incorporated easily in your lifestyle, always accompany treatments.

Chakra System

There are seven major chakra points in the human body, and numerous minor ones. They are wheels of spinning or vibrating energy which profoundly affect every part of our human existence – mind, body and spirit. They radiate out from different points along the spine, forming a vertical axis which runs from the base of the spine to the top of the head. However, they are not part of the physical body, but of the subtle energy body.

Chakra System

Each chakra point has an associated colour which resembles the colours of the rainbow. It is through the chakras that all aspects of our being are connected and can be aligned and balanced during a healing session. Each charka operates to a varying extent depending on how open or closed it is. Working with the chakras helps open them up, releases blocked energy and restores a sense of harmony. The subtle energy of the chakra system is sensed through the hands of the therapist.

Reiki

Reiki is a ancient Tibetan art of healing which has been used in the East for over 3,000 years. The translation of Reiki, from the Japanese, means Universal Life Force Energy. It was "re-discovered" in the late 1800’s by Dr Mikao Usui and has since spread throughout the western world.

Reiki is a very subtle, natural, healing energy which is channelled through the therapist to the client. Reiki healing travels to where it is most needed in the body and thus balances the body’s energies, while at the same time, encourages the client’s own ability to heal themselves.
